Job Essential Function 1
Percent of Time: 70%
PROGRAM PLANNING AND DELIVERY
Plan and deliver ongoing programming to effectively prevent violence on campus, including guest speakers, workshops, events and film series. Topic areas may include, but are not limited to, sexual assault, dating and domestic
violence, stalking, bystander intervention and online personal safety.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, coordinate educational programming and training initiatives. Facilitate and assess workshops and presentations. Provide annual trainings to on-campus and off-campus housing staff,
including student staff. Respond to workshop and training requests, utilizing current best-practices in bystander intervention and prevention strategies. Evaluate methods of resource referrals, workshop requests and scheduling of educational workshops for
efficiency and effectiveness, recommending revision where appropriate.
Coordinate all efforts to provide education for incoming students (First Year, Transfer, Graduate, Athletes, and International) through orientation programs, information distribution and web-based education. Recruit, select,
train, and guide peer educators involved in orientation programs, develop program information, and participate in student-parent orientation program workshops. Maintain all web-based education programs and ensure the communication of student mandates to all
incoming students. Establish and maintain liaison relationships to specialized campus populations such as new students, international students, students with disabilities and athletes.
Collaborate with the Office of Student Conduct on educational sanctioning.
Actively engage new and existing campus partners in collaboration designed to benefit the student population, increase knowledge and awareness, teach personal safety and partner in violence prevention.
Serve on campus-wide planning committees as requested, and act as a co-chair for the annual Take Back the Night planning committee.
Evaluate program effectiveness on an annual basis, maintain records of program effectiveness. Ensure that information meets legislative mandates and reflects accurate and up-to-date information.
Provide referral and information to students, staff, and faculty as requested and when possible.
Job Essential Function 2
Percent of Time: 20%
INTERN/PEER COORDINATION
Guide and evaluate student interns volunteering for academic units and/or service and volunteerism. Provide training on office procedures and establish working goals for field study students and peer educators, including evaluation
of effectiveness, timeliness, focus, completion and commitment to projects. Provide weekly guidance and weekly supervision to field study students engaged in research projects.
Responsible for selection of peer educators in the men s outreach program, CHAMPS (Challenging All Men to Prevent Sexism) and develop outreach programs for specialized populations such as new students, students with disabilities,
athletes and international students. Coordinate annual student leadership retreats for peer education groups as well as plan training curriculum. Identifies learning objectives, develops syllabi, compiles readings, grades papers, and conducts ongoing training
for peer leadership programs. Provide leadership to coordinators for peer education programs.
Job Essential Function 3
Percent of Time: 5%
RESEARCH AND MARKETING
Create University-wide educational publications (print and web) and educational marketing campaigns as well as maintaining and updating written protocols and procedures.
Promote and advocate institutional policies related to violence prevention.
Collect data to support department activities and guide organizational goals. Engage in research projects designed to improve University response to sexual violence, inform effective prevention methods, and improve existing
services. Compile annual reports reflecting the results of research projects.
Seek to identify and develop extramural funding sources and support grant-writing efforts.

Percent of Time: 5%
OTHER
Attend all CARE staff meetings and provide reports on programming and collaborations.
Administer and monitor programmatic budgets for assigned programs.
Collaborate with CARE leadership on development and implementation of overall CARE goals and objectives.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Required:
General knowledge of sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking and accepted practices in violence prevention.
Experience in coordinating groups and providing education or training.
Ability to relate to a broad diversity of students and familiar with principles of equal opportunity in employment and placement practices.
Good public relations skills.
Possess knowledge of methods and techniques to facilitate student outreach activities.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work in environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Knowledge of and experience with graphics and/or desktop publishing programs including Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Internet Explorer.
Must be able to work independently under minimal supervision.
Desired:
General knowledge of crime prevention.
Master's degree in related field (e.g. Education, Public Health, Psychology, Criminology).
