Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) is hiring a full time statewide sexual assault education and prevention specialist to assist the six regional IU campuses as they enhance their prevention, education and advocacy efforts related to sexual assault and relationship violence. This position includes coalition-building and training and technical assistance across the IU system amongst direct service providers, prevention staff, and multi-disciplinary team members to foster change at the community and society levels of the social ecology.

Statewide Sexual Assault Education and Prevention Specialist
The Statewide Sexual Assault Education and Prevention Specialist will be responsible for assisting the six regional IU campuses as they enhance their prevention, education, and advocacy efforts related to sexual assault and relationship violence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop and implement a system-wide approach to assessment of campus prevention, education, and response efforts; Collaborate with various campus and community-based constituents within each region; Facilitate the development of individualized campus action plans.
•Coordinate monthly statewide meetings to ensure a consistent, coordinated approach for all Indiana University campuses.
•Being located in Indianapolis, this individual will also be responsible for developing relationships with State agencies, including the Indiana State Department of Health, in order to optimize University efforts.
•Assist in the development and execution of two statewide conferences that will provide training and education for individuals involved in various aspects of the University engagement in the prevention and response to sexual assault and relationship violence.
•Will work closely with specialists from the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses in all of the above-identified efforts. The Specialist will also engage in department and Division initiatives and professional development activities.
REQUIRED: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in mental health, social work, student affairs, health education, higher education, public health or related field, plus a minimum 3 years of experience, including: • Provision of direct service to individuals that have experienced sexual assault and relationship violence. • Working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. • Delivery of successful educational outreach and programs. • Experience with project coordination. • Strategic Planning. • Program assessment and evaluation. • Addressing public health issues in order to impact the culture of a community.

Knowledge of the: • Principles of primary prevention work in sexual assault and relationship violence • Psychological impact of trauma and implications for advocacy • Prevention research and best practices related to the college campus setting • Federal and state legislation related to sexual assault and relationship violence prevention and response
Demonstrated skills in: • Organization • Oral and written communication • Use of electronic media • Collaboration and consensus-building • Cross-cultural professional competencies
Additional skills required include: • Strong work ethic and team oriented. • Experience in university setting preferred.
