Hi Nancy--
I will be in Baltimore--presenting with my amazing former student, now alum, Carley Flanery. I hope we can at least say hello ;)

See you in Baltimore, hon!

Dear SAPC and WRAC-L colleagues,

Just a quick reminder that today is the last day for regular registration for the NASPA Violence Prevention Conference, which will be from Jan 11-13 in National Harbor, MD, in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  The website is at http://www.naspa.org/events/2015VPC

I am excited to share that I have several updates to the conference schedule that have been confirmed since I last wrote about the conference:

  • The opening plenary will provide federal perspectives from representatives of the Departments of Education and Justice, the U.S. Congress, and the White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault.
  • Another plenary session will include survivor activists talking about their work on combatting campus gender-based violence at the institutional, regulatory, and legislative levels.
  • The Victim Rights Law Center and the Clery Center will be doing a pre-conference session on operationalizing the new guidance and regulations under Title IX, the Clery Act and VAWA.
  • There are many concurrent sessions, several of which will be presented by folks whose names I know from these listservs.

As you may remember, this conference is held concurrently with conferences with a focus on Mental Health issues and on issues related to Alcohol and Other Drug use, and registration for any of the three conferences entitles you to attend sessions offered at all three.  Links to those conference schedules can be found at http://www.naspa.org/events/2015VPC#schedule

I hope you will let me know if you plan to attend any of the conferences so I can say hello during those three days.  In addition, I am of course available to answer questions beforehand.

Best,

Nancy
