| This position will work under the Dean of Students/ Associate Dean of Students to provide crisis intervention; serve as advocate for students who are survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, referral to campus/ community resources, medical resources for survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking; develop and implement outreach programs; be an integral part of the Seeking Options and Solutions Program; assist with CARE Team on call rotation and work with the UNT community regarding student survivors. The Assistant Director would: - Be the first point of contact from the Dean of Students' office to coordinate referrals for medical care, counseling, law enforcement and other services on campus and off campus as requested by the student; educate student on all options of reporting at the University (Title IX Coordinator, Dean of Students, UNT Police) and law enforcement. - Will provide crisis support for students seeking out the Dean of Students office - Integral part of the Seeking Options and Solutions program - Contact professors on behalf of the student if requested to arrange for necessary considerations for class changes and verified absences. - Coordinate with housing to facilitate room changes if necessary and help implement any safety parameters that have been put in place (such as no contact orders or protective orders). - Support the survivor throughout the entire investigation into possible violations of the Code of Student Conduct. - Support the survivor throughout the criminal investigation and subsequent court proceedings if applicable. - Facilitate communication between the survivor and various systems including the police agencies, university officials and district attorney's office staff and attend meetings with the survivor if requested. - Assist survivor in safety planning. - Provide information about protective orders and assist in the application process with the district attorney's office and/ or Denton County Friends of the Family. - Assist in requesting Crime Victims Compensation from the Attorney General's office through appropriate avenues. - Organize campus and community collaborative partnerships; programming and prevention efforts including student programming and education to be reported for the Annual Security Report. - Serve on the CARE Team on all rotation in the Dean of Students office every week to assist students in crisis and make necessary referrals. - Work with UNT Police, UNT Pride Alliance, Denton County Friends of the Family and other University and Community Resources to assist survivors. - Assist with Seeking Options and Solutions program as necessary. | The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. | |
