Apologies to ATIXA group, this will be a duplication

Hello, all:

Are any of you subscribers to Campus Safety Magazine? A colleague forwarded an article to me today, How to Investigate Sexual Assaults. http://www.campussafetymagazine.com/article/sexual-assault-investigation-basics  and  I take issue with a number of items in the article, but I am deeply troubled by the section regarding consent. Please see page 3, What did 'No' look like?. The author leads with mention of consent, then only discusses whether or not force was a factor: "...investigators must determine what 'no' looked like to the victim and offender... Was their lubrication? Were the victim's legs forced apart?" This is such an outdated view of rape that I find it hard to believe it was just published.

The online version of the magazine does not allow comments following the article, but I have emailed the author to protest the information contained therein.

Thanks,
Lee
