Subject: speaker for athletes

Hello Everyone,

I have been asked by my university administrators to find a speaker that will resonate with our athletes to present on the topic of sexual assault with an emphasis on consent.  In the fall 2013 we had the Sex Signals program here which was very well attended and successful but we are now hoping to find someone who is perhaps a former athlete or comes from the an athletic background themselves.  I appreciate any ideas.

Thank you,

Hi Amy,

I’ve attached two resources for those working with survivors of multiple assaults which appear to be quite informative. There is also a substantial amount of research on survivors of multiple victimizations, and a quick Google search will get you started down that road, if you’re interested. Best of luck.

Warmly,

Kelley

Amy,

Here are some of my favorites for female survivors on women’s empowerment—some may be 2 steps away from a direct line to empowerment, because they are not all just for survivors.

They appeal to many survivors I’ve worked with over the last many years! J

hi, esteemed colleagues -
i have two needs:
1. do you have articles/readings to recommend for clients about cultivating positive sexual relationships/experiences after suffering 1+ sexual assault(s)?
2. do you have articles/readings to support clients who have multiple assaults, and feel that they must be to blame because they have experienced a pattern of assaults?
thank you!
-Amy
