The National Center for Victims of Crime will hold its 2013 National Conference, September 9-11, in Phoenix, AZ.

Violence against Women:  Why It Matters
  • 6.6 million people were stalked in one year in the United States. One in 6 women and 1 in 19 men have been stalked during their lifetime.
  • 1.3 million women were raped in one year in the United States. Nearly 1 in 5 women have been raped in their lifetime while 1 in 71 men have been raped in their lifetime.
  • A woman is victimized by an intimate partner every 1. 3 minutes. One in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner.
