Ours is called Sexual Assault Peer Advocates.

Here's our definition of coercion: Coercion. Coercion is unreasonable pressure for sexual activity. Coercive behavior differs from seductive behavior based on the type of pressure someone uses to get consent from another. When a person makes clear he or she does not want sex, he/she wants to stop, or that he/she does not want to go past a certain point of sexual interaction, continued pressure beyond that point can be coercive.

Subject: Two questions

Dear Colleagues,

I’m new to this listserv, so please feel free to offer me guidance as I learn the protocols for this group. I’m writing with two questions:

1.       Policy definition. Do any of you have definitions of coercion in your sexual assault policies that you feel are working well? If so, could you please pass them on?

2.       Sexual assault advocate programs. If you have some sort of group of students/faculty/staff who provide confidential support to students dealing with a traumatic sexual experience, what is the name of this resource?

Many thanks in advance for your help. Best wishes from steamy, soggy Vermont.

Karen
