As many of you may have heard, the Campus SaVE Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday as part of the Violence Against Women Act reauthorization and is now headed to the President who is expected to sign it into law. This article from the Center for Public Integrity contains additional details. While this article primarily focuses on the conduct proceeding components of SaVE, I believe that the most significant provisions are those that call for enhanced education and prevention efforts – notably primary prevention. These requirements will take effect with the annual Clery reports issued in 2014, so in essence for the 2014-2015 school year. S.
