Hi Elizabeth, We have one and it’s been very successful. It has run every quarter since 2004, except for summers. I facilitate the group and at times have supervised a Counseling Center intern as a co-facilitator. It is completely confidential (as they all agree up front to this and other guidelines determined by the group).
Guidelines articulate HOW to manage confidentiality on campus, outside friendships, timeliness, duration of their commitment, use of silence, function of “check-ins”, role of the facilitator, etc.
The group opens to new members at the beginning of each quarter and closes for the remainder, to provide safety for members and to allow the group to keep moving forward, instead of going back to ground rules
every time a new person joins. They do not meet finals week or the week before finals.
Feel free to call me (number is below) if you want to know more about how it’s facilitated. Best, Mandy Mandy K. Mount, Ph.D., Director Phone: (949) 824-7273 Please Note: Communication on the Internet is not secure. Third parties may view and store your

Hi all…any universities out there have a support group for victim survivors of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, etc that is offered on their campus? I’m looking for information about how successful it is, who facilitates it, issues
regarding confidentiality, etc. Please contact me if your university offers one! Thanks! In peace, Elizabeth Elizabeth G. Madariaga, LPCC Sexual Assault Services Coordinator Staff Counselor Counseling and Testing Center Western Kentucky University
What you need to know about me is that I believe that violence is crap...that we all deserve to be safe...that I know what to do to make our campus safer...and that
I will step up if I need to..but most of all, you need to know that I EXPECT YOU TO DO THE SAME!
