Although it is not specifically focused on Title IX, this year I am attending the National Sexual Assault Conference in August in Chicago: http://www.cvent.com/events/national-sexual-assault-conference-2012-revive-rethink-reclaim-/event-summary-53743bc5f854494e93140c9980364d4a.aspx. There are several sessions on working with young adults/college students.

Hi Emily:

We are holding a conference on October 5th in Washington, DC with a Reception on the evening of October 4th at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC.

The conference covers a number of topics involving campus safety and our goal audience is a mix of student affairs, campus police/public safety, and representatives from the community/non-profit sector.  We will be announcing an exciting keynote speaker shortly but confirmed presenters include:

Gina Maisto-Smith and Leslie Gomez from Ballard Spahr (Plenary)- Gina and Leslie have a great presentation on Title IX and Sexual Violence.  They are energetic, interactive, and are fabulous presenters on the topic.  Both Gina and Leslie are former prosecutors in Philadelphia.  They have done some wonderful, holistic work with campuses.  I find their presentation to truly challenge the culture.

Paul Cell and Donna Barry from Montclair State Univ- Paul and Donna will present on the development of a SART and a collaborative approach to response.  Donna also contributed to the ACHA publication "Shifting the Paradigm-Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence."

Other presenters include Gene Deisinger (Virginia Tech), Doug Fierberg (School Violence Law),  Linda Langford (Higher Education Center), and a few more to be named later.

Here is a link or I am happy to answer question if you need any information-  http://securityoncampus.org/event/2012-10-04-000000-2012-10-05-000000/proceeding-partnership-25th-anniversary-event

Have a great weekend,
Alison

I am interested in learning more about any conferences that address sexual assault prevention/advocacy particularly in light of Title IX.
Any suggestions?

Also is safe society zone still functioning?

Thanks.
Emily
