Subject: [wrac-l] 2013 Intl Anti-Street Harassment Week

Dear Women’s Centers,

Please save the date for International Anti-Street Harassment Week 2013. This week of awareness will take place during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, from April 7-13, 2013. I changed the week from March to April specifically to make it easier for campuses to participate (this year it was spring break for most campuses) and I hope you all can participate!

More information will be available closer to the date and you can view a wrap-up report to read about what happened this year.

Also, if you’re interested in bringing me to your campus this year for a talk or to lead a workshop, please let me know. I’ve given more than 20 campus talks over the past two years. I can cover the topic of street harassment generally, look at international issues, and/or focus on activism and ways to respond. I have many more examples of activism that works after my own experiences this spring helping bring an anti-sexual harassment campaign to the Washington, DC Metro system and using a Change.org petition to bring down an offensive pro-street harassment sign at a mall in New Jersey.
