Adriane,

The Line is a powerful movie and, in my experience, yields fruitful discussions. In general I tend away from movies that focus on 1 survivor’s story, but in this case it is so relatable that it is well-worth your time. Plus the film is only a ½ hour, so it leaves plenty of time for an energized discussion.

Other favorites are “Generation M” or “Hip Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes.” The former is a 2008 critique of rape culture – although I am not sure it calls it by name. The latter is hip-hop lover’s critique of his favorite music and very pertinent to rape culture as well (as well as systems of oppression). Both yield valuable discussions and are 1hr long. However, they’re getting close to seeming outdated.

Good luck!

Eva

I'm interested in offering a film screening and discussion for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and I would be grateful for any ideas or feedback.

One idea put forth thus far is screening Where is your line?  I'm curious if anyone has experience screening this film with students and what sorts of conversations resulted.  I'm also interested in hearing about other films folks might recommend that would offer the opportunity to discuss rape myths, bystander intervention, or other fruitful topics.

Thanks!
