In the process of revising our conduct code and sexual misconduct policy an issue has come up about which we haven’t been able to find any good information.  I’m hoping that someone on the list can tell me what you are doing on your campus.

In the event that a student victimizes someone who is not a member of the college community (ex.  a neighbor in an off campus residential neighborhood) and the local police report it to the college, who acts as the complainant in a college judicial hearing?   What if the incident takes place on campus?  Does the victim bring the complaint or does someone representing the College bring the complaint?

Thanks

-Liz
