Coordinator of Sexual and Relationship Violence Prevention Education and Response Office of Health Promotion, Emory University Student Health and Counseling Services Education: MPH or MA required in counseling, student services, social work, public health, or related field. Credentials as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Masters Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) preferred. Experience and Skills: Response

Crisis counseling experience essential
·
Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and to use sound judgment in responding to crisis situations
·
Ability to work effectively with student, faculty, administrative, parent and other external constituencies essential Prevention Education
·
Demonstrated knowledge of, and evidence of experience applying, health promotion and behavior change theories and the ecological framework in prevention of sexual assault and intimate partner violence (IPV) with college-age populations
·
Two-three years experience in sexual assault/IPV prevention education and response or related field, preferably in a campus setting
·
Excellent attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills including listening, public speaking, internet communications, and a variety of computer applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, internet research required;
SPSS, internet design preferred)
·
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and address behavioral health concerns of a culturally diverse university student population
·
Demonstrated skills in health behavior research methodology, needs assessment, health communication, social marketing, population-based health promotion, policy analysis, statistical analysis
·
Familiarity with the American College Health Association’s (ACHA)
Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education preferred Duties & Responsibilities:
·
This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating Emory’s comprehensive sexual assault prevention education initiatives addressing many facets of sexual violence including IPV and stalking. These initiatives
may include, but are not limited to: curriculum design; presentations and workshops for classes, student organizations and residence hall communities; trainings for staff, students and faculty; population-based health promotion strategies; policy review and
development; advising student organizations; and community organizing and coalition building. Assessment is a strong component of Campus Life and program outcomes are expected to be documented in written reports and verbal reports.

Provide individual support and assistance for students who have experienced sexual assault/IPV/stalking, and support Emory’s 24-hour on-call system for emergency response. Individual support includes case management related to
healthcare, safety, housing, academic needs and referrals to law enforcement, Office of Student Conduct, Student Health and Counseling Services, and/or other campus and community resources as desired by the survivor

Participate in overall activities and mission of the Office of Health Promotion
·
Coordinate consistent reporting of incidents of sexual assault and other relationship violence via an anonymous reporting form and corresponding protocols, complying with federal guidelines
·
Consult with staff, faculty and other students who are assisting students with concerns about sexual assault (survivors, friends of survivors, students concerned they may have perpetrated an assault, etc.).
·
Collaborate with key stakeholders/leaders on campus to develop a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to reducing sexual assault and assisting survivors
·
Research best practice models of sexual assault education and prevention strategies
·
Based on needs assessment and research into best practice models, if indicated, develop a peer advocate training program and supervise peer educators and advocates
·
Design, produce and create distribution plan for educational and outreach materials on sexual assault and prevention in a variety of communication formats
·
Participate in campus, community, state and national committees/task forces that address sexual assault. Represent Emory University as a liaison to local community agencies associated with prevention and response to sexual assault.
Convene on-campus Sexual Assault Advisory Board as needed.
