If you are a school that requires freshmen (or all students) to be part of mandatory education about sexual assault, how is this done?  I'm looking for info on all aspects:

 

Format - (video, theater group, guest speaker, peer education, lecture, part of a first year experience class, online program like Alcohol.Edu or n.formed, a couple of these, or some other method)

Accountability - How do you know students completed it and how do you hold them accountable to do it?

Administration - Is your office responsible for the organization, presentation, oversight and if not, who is?

 

I know this question has come up before on the listserv... and I'm wondering if anyone has compiled results they can share with me?  Or if you are implementing something new, what are you doing? 

 

It seems fairly frequent that someone on this list poses a question, collects responses & shares it with others ont the list.  Since we can't post attachments, and since most of this information would be valuable to many of us, I'm wondering if it makes sense for this listserv to utilize google docs or some other secure website where we can all log in and post or view documents, especially when it involves results of questions posed to the members...a database of sorts.

 

On our campus, all freshmen & transfer students must complete Alcohol.Edu and this year we added the Sex Matters segment which deals with sexual assault.  Students' ability to register for spring classes is dependent upon their completion of Alcohol.Edu, which is how we have accountability.    Our freshmen are also required to take a First Year Seminar and about half of our freshmen are enrolled in an FYS class that includes one class on alcohol & safer sex and another class on sexual assault & intimate partner violence, both of which were developed by my office.  However, the other half of the freshmen are students in academic departments that do not include our curriculum.  We are working on a proposal to have all freshmen receive education on these topics.  Thanks for any input you can share!
