Program Assistant

Part time (20 hours per week)

The Idaho Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence seeks a qualified and committed person for the position of Program Assistant.  

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answering the phones.
  • Planning, support, and coordination of assigned projects.
  • Create and maintain agency and organization databases and mailings.
  • Develop and maintain office forms and documents.
  • Provide administrative support to office staff, including preparation and mailing of packets, boxes, and other meeting documents as required.
  • Assist with billings.
  • Schedule and arrange meetings and travel.
  • Operate multi-line telephone, cellular telephone, desktop and laptop computers, projector, facsimile, and photocopier.

 

Qualifications:

·      Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

·      Strong ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate tasks in a flexible manner to address changing needs.

·      Ability to work effectively in a team environment while remaining responsible and accountable for results. 

·      Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.

·      Strong organizational skills and ability to establish organizational systems.  Ability to pay close attention to details.

·      Experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating meetings and large events. 

·      Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. 

·      Financial experience preferred.

Senior Public Policy/Program Director

Full time

Exempt

 

The Idaho Coalition seeks a highly qualified and committed person for the position of Senior Public Policy/Program Director, responsible for realizing ICASDV’s public policy goals and building the policy capacity of ICASDV’s program members, organizational members and partner organizations to prevent and respond to domestic and sexual violence. The Senior Public Policy/Program Director will strategize to advance ICASDV’s policy agenda by analyzing policy developments and determining how best to influence the policy process and mobilize allies. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: creating effective policy materials; drafting legislation; and relationship-building. The Senior Public Policy/Program Director will also oversee one or more projects depending on individual experience and skills, ranging from prevention projects addressing adolescent relationships to responsive projects addressing issues specific to domestic violence, stalking, and sexual violence.  The Senior Public Policy/Program Director will also have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivating relationships and elevating ICASDV’s mission to engage voices in the prevention and response to domestic and sexual violence, by working with governmental systems and organizations and non-governmental organizations.
  • Oversee one or more projects depending on individual experience and skills, ranging from prevention projects addressing adolescent relationships (education, youth organization, health systems, and more) to responsive projects addressing domestic violence, stalking, and sexual violence (justice systems, immigration, health, economic justice, housing and more).
  • Assist Executive Director in developing strategies to work with state legislature and administering agencies on regulatory and policy issues.
  • Providing ongoing technical assistance and guidance on policy and advocacy issues on the prevention and response to adolescent dating violence, domestic violence, stalking and sexual violence to the ICASDV staff, member and organizational programs and collaborating organizations.
  • Generating and increasing grassroots action and enhancing participation by coordinating information gathering from systems and organizations.
  • Contributing to fundraising efforts, including funding appeals, grant writing, and communication with funders – optional.

 

Qualifications

  • 10 years or more experience in policy work, organizing and/or coalition-building work in the prevention and/or response to domestic violence and/or sexual violence field, or a social justice or social change movement.
  • Education, Masters level or higher preferred.
  • Understanding of the complexity and dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking and willingness to deepen the understanding.
  • Experience interacting with federal and state-level agencies and drafting or advocating for federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to prevention and response to domestic and sexual violence as well as a commitment to addressing the specific needs of Communities of Color, Native communities and immigrant communities.
  • Supervisory and project management experience. 
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and persuasive writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize when under deadline.
  • Must be a problem solver, curious and want to do things outside their comfort zone, passionate about the work and willingness to commit the necessary time, energy and enthusiasm to create social change.

Program Manager, Children’s Mental Health

Part time (20 hours per week) or

Full time exempt employee

The Idaho Coalition seeks a highly qualified and committed person for the position of Program Manager, Children’s Mental Health, responsible for improving the capacity of the Coalition’s member programs and other community child/youth services providers to serve children and youth exposed to domestic violence.  The Program Manager will work with a nationally-recognized Coalition partner to infuse evidence-based, trauma-informed practices at four domestic violence demonstration projects across southern Idaho.  The Program Manager will receive and participate in training from the national partner on an evidence-based, trauma-informed curriculum and will provide technical assistance and training on these practices to the demonstration projects’ domestic violence advocates and mental health counselors. The Program Manager will also assist the Coalition and its national partner to identify best practices from each demonstration project and to implement statewide the best practices identified from the trainings. 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Serve as the project manager for the HHS Children Exposed to Domestic Violence Project.

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Masters level in Social Work or Counseling required.
  • 5 years or more experience providing counseling and/or social work services to children.
  • Understanding of the complexity and dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking and willingness to deepen the understanding.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practices.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and persuasive writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage projects and prioritize when under deadline.
  • Passionate about the work and willingness to commit the necessary time, energy and enthusiasm to ensure success.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

Program Specialist, Communications

The Idaho Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence seeks a qualified and committed person for the position of Communications Program Specialist with experience planning, managing, and developing web site content and web projects, as well as writing and editing content for other communications channels. The ideal candidate for this position will be well versed in the tools and trends of the online world with experience overseeing web development projects and a demonstrated ability to incorporate online strategy into a comprehensive communications program.  

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Compile, write, edit, proof and maintain web content, including development of new pages and management of text, images and video to the highest standards.

·         Serve as primary liaison with web developers and outside vendors for development of new outreach products. Experience with web-based programming preferred.

·      Support and implement strategies for distributing content and building program personality through social media technology (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, APs, blogs) 

·      Serve as primary contact for preparing and sending email newsletters and to work with the traditional and non-traditional press.

·      Work with team to develop and implement social communications strategies and longterm goals, and continually enhance effectiveness of the programs.

 

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, web design or related field. 

·         Creative and independent thinker who will bring new ideas and timetested experience to improving the Make an Impact website, and social network tools.

·         Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications and online writing skills.

·         Must have proven expertise in editing and writing for the web.

·         Must have working knowledge of social media technology and proven judgment in distributing content. Must have time and project management skills. 

·         Strong ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate tasks in a flexible manner to address changing needs. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while remaining responsible and accountable for results. 

·         Proficient in organizing and developing usable content for web pages, as well as editing existing Web content to meet current web usability standards. 

·         Must have experience with web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics). 

·         Experience with content management system preferred. 

·         Working knowledge of Photoshop and XHTML a plus. 

·         Possessing attention to detail and the ability to manage project budget, meet deadlines, and satisfy reporting requirements of funding entity. 

·         Experience with Cold Fusion preferred but not required.
