Re: pop culture and discussions around sexuality and consent - I sometimes ask my students to rewrite the song "paradise by the dashboard light"

by Metaloaf, as an exercise.  It gets them thinking about the guy's perspective - and they tend to write great stuff about men being mindful and less

desperate  - etc.  

I also want to suggest the movie Rashomon.  This black and white film depicts a rape from the perspectives of the victim

the offender and an observer - and suggests that all three are correct somehow.  I use this film to demonstrate why only the victim's perspective

is relevant if the goal is preservation of autonomy - and we talk about how the other perspectives might have been filmed if autonomy were

the goal.
