Organizational characteristics:
Founded in 1981, the mission of the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence is to provide services and support to those affected by sexual and domestic violence and to provide education and leadership within
the community to change the societal conditions that cultivate these forms of violence. We are an organization of 15 professional staff, a 930K annual budget, and a seasoned and engaged board of directors. Our three facilities are in good physical repair; our
budget has been balanced for the past five years; and we retain a modest reserve. Our board is actively engaged in all aspects of our development activities.

Corvallis is home to Oregon State University, near great outdoor activities, and within an hour’s drive of the Oregon Coast and Portland and 1.5 hours from the Cascade Mountains. Our vital downtown offers year
round arts and culture, unique shopping, and more than 30 restaurants with many diverse cuisines. Our job market is stable with low unemployment; we have a healthy housing market; and Corvallis is a safe, friendly and wonderful environment for all families.

Required knowledge and expertise:
Five years of increasing executive level experience that includes organizational planning,
budgeting with multiple funding sources, and personnel management of an organization similar in size and complexity

Highly developed, effective oral and written communication skills
Caring, compassionate leader with keen skills and desire to implement the CARDV mission and
a strong belief in the empowerment of women as survivors, co-workers, and community leaders
Multi-cultural competency with diverse populations
Dynamic leadership skills supporting feminist advocacy on behalf of women at home, in transition,
and in the workplace
Experience implementing strategic development of resources
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with a board of directors and community service
and funding partners
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area
Preferred skills and experience:
Background in domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy work
Prior experience as an executive director
Grant writing success with foundations and government sources
Fundraising experience
Non-profit management experience
Bi-lingual skills a plus
