Greetings everyone,

We are working on developing a training for our Committee on
Discipline, so that they are better prepared to hear sexual violence
related cases. I think it has been a few years since sexual violence
was a focus in the training curriculum (as the Committee's
membership rotates every few years), so we really want to maximize
this opportunity.

With my message today, I hope to see if anyone has come across
anything useful that might be worth us looking into -- best
practices, effective training simulations, noteworthy strategies --
anything that can help us to create the best session for the
Committee. If you have anything you can share, I would be most
grateful if you could send it my way.

Have a great day!
Sincerely,
-Greg Baker.

There have been a few requests for information on what others are

it with the whole list?  I know I'd like to see some of this

Meg, the Equal Opportunity Programs at UVA has a training that was
designed for our setting.  I can't say it's the best in the world,
but it does cover various issues.  They do a broad-based training on
all forms of discriminatory harassment.

Committed Advocates,

Our college will soon be revising our Code of Student Conduct. I am looking for examples to more fully cover sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking. If you would email me directly, it would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks in advance!

At UVA we have Brett Sokolow come and train the Sexual Assault Board. He knows his stuff, and does a very professional training. But he's not cheap, so it would take a bit of a commitment on the part of your institution to bring him in.

Hello all -

Do you have any recommendations for a book for a male partner whose female partner was recently raped? He wants to know how to help her as well as manage his own feelings.

Thanks!
