I agree that we should take every opportunity to make presentations that we
have. Having been a student affairs administrator for 10 years and having
sat on scheduling committees for Orientation, I can assure you that
Northwestern has a choice. I also think that we as a field need to be
advocates for our issue and speak truth to power when needed. I also respect
the fact that in this case, Laura may have already done so and/or could be in
the kind of situation where she might not be in the kind of position where
she is politically able to advocate for more time. Either way, I do think we
as a movement need to do a much better job of advocating for a more
reasonable opportunity to educate students about sexual assault.
