Hi, friends and colleagues!
Lots of you have been writing me to get the free Holidays Shouldnt Hurt
campaign posters. In my initial email, I wasnt clear that I can send these
posters to you as email attachments! So please, keep writing me and Ill
send them along to whomever can use them.
On another note, Ive had the pleasure of speaking with graduate student
Noelle Weber these past few weeks shes made a very kind offer. Ms. Weber
is choosing her thesis topic and thesis question and wants it to be about
consent and sexual violence. Shed like the thesis, and the study, to be
useful to folks doing this work in the field.
Is there a topic that hasnt been covered, that we practitioners would like
to have her study? Have you ever thought, Oh, I wish someone would do a
study on x and y, about consent...? If so, please let her know your ideas
at the email below.
Thanks! - Ben

Subject: Graduate student would like your input on pertinent thesis topic
Hello,
I recently read an article by Ben Atherton-Zeman titled Manufacturing
Consent. Reading this article and also speaking with and hearing students
feedback in various classes on campus has confirmed that I would like to
work on a thesis over the next year and a half of graduate school. I am
studying Student Affairs Administration at the University of WisconsinLa
Crosse and have a grad assistantship at Western Technical College as a
Violence Prevention Specialist.
I am very new to the movement and would very much appreciate input from
seasoned veterans on what you think may be a good study to conduct for a
thesis. I am very interested in college students perceptions of consent
especially in relation to alcohol use. I would like to spend my time over
the next two years working on something that may be useful to people in the
movement. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for your time.
Respectfully,
Noelle
