Hi, Ms. Johnson!
I haven't developed such a handout, but if anyone has, it'd be the
Technology and Safety program of the National Network to End Domestic
Violence. The program director is Cindy Southworth.
Hope that helps!
Until the violence stops, Ben.

Does anyone have access to data about combined family violence/sexual
assault community agencies compared with separate agencies for family
violence and for sexual assault? It seems to be a trend in recent years to
combine them, but it would be good to have numbers on how common/uncommon
that is. thanks.

Hello All,
I currently facilitate our Family Violence/Sexual Assault Council in our
local community. Recently our council had a discussion about social
networking site restrictions being included into harassment restraining
orders and orders for protection. We discussed developing a handout for
advocates to use with victims that would give suggestions of specific
language to consider when assisting victims in writing protective orders.
This language would be generated to address offenders use of social
networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc. as a way to
monitor, control and stalk victims.
My question is, has anyone else developed or had experience writing
technology or social networking contact concerns into protective orders? If
so can you send me any language that may be helpful for our council to adopt
in a handout?
If not, I am wondering if anyone would be interested in working with me
directly to help develop a handout such as this via email.
Please contact me directly if you have any thoughts.
Thank you,
Sheila J. Johnson, LSW

Hi Everyone!
On Nov. 17, Men Can Stop Rape was featured in a New York Times column
that focuses on accountability for troubled running back Larry Johnson,
who just signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. As some of you might know,
Johnson has been in and out of the news for assaulting four women and
more recently for posting homophobic slurs on Twitter. Check out "In
Johnson's Signing, Talent Prevails"
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/18/sports/football/18rhoden.html?_r=1
Kudos to columnist (and frequent guest on ESPN's "The Sports Reporters")
William C. Rhoden for focusing on this issue.
Thanks for reading!

Attached, please find the flyer for the upcoming WA Sexual Violence
Prevention College Coalition's Fall Conference.
The first day is focused on professional development on issues of
adjudication of sexual assault cases on campus, technology safety, the WSU
Safety Survey which looks at prevalence on campus, and ends with a sharing
session with partner schools from around the state.
The second day will be a half day focused on the Coalition's ground breaking
statewide implementation of the Green Dot program (currently the most
exciting prevention program in the country).
Questions about payment can be directed to Michelle Pingree at EWU -
Questions about location can be directed to Andrea Easlick at CWU -
Please help us spread the word and I hope to see you there!
