Coordinator of Sexual Violence Education and Advocacy (Think S.A.F.E.
Project)
CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college, has a
grant-funded position available for a Coordinator of Sexual Violence
Education and Advocacy (Think S.A.F.E. Project) with the potential of 3
years of employment.
This position will focus on reducing domestic violence, sexual assault and
stalking on campus and will be instrumental in developing this initiative on
campus and laying the foundation in how the College integrates this
education into its community. The Coordinator will act as the on campus
sexual assault advocate and provide appropriate guidance and training to the
College Community.
The ideal candidate will provide guidance to student interns, volunteer
staff, male peer education group and programming, act as the on campus
sexual assault advocate, coordinate campus education/training on sexual
respect/sexual violence/dating violence prevention and intervention,
collaborate with the College community to assess needs and develop
prevention/educations programs, act as liaison to community sexual assault
crisis services, implement and co-chair a coordinated community response
team, collaborate grant administration and monitor grant budget and maintain
records, attend grant mandated conferences, coordinate on campus assessment
evaluation, work nights and weekends as required due to incident or
programming needs and serve in as an on-call administrator for responding to
reports of sexual/dating violence
A Masters degree in public health, women’s issues, social work or related
field and 1 – 3 years experience in sexual assault advocacy, prevention,
and/or training, ability to assess needs and develop effective training
programs, strong presentation skills, ability to work a flexible schedule to
include evening and weekend hours, high integrity needed to handle
confidential information and to ensure compliance with FERPA laws and
excellent
interpersonal skills and well-developed written and oral communication
skills are required.
