Hello,
I am looking for information about standard practice for how to address
an informal disclosure of sexual violence (ie - the survivor does not
want to make a formal complaint or have action taken) to a campus
employee who does NOT hold legal privilege (e.g., a faculty or staff
member). In particular, what is the expected response of the campus
employee when the name of the perpetrator is given, but the survivor
does not want any action taken?
If you could please share with me the guidelines for campus responders
at your institution, that would be extremely helpful to us. Please feel
free to send any responses to me directly at:
I also know that concerns about liability can emerge with this
situation, can anyone provide information about legal precedence that
may guide this practice?
Thanks so much for your help,
Linda Anderson
