Interpersonal Violence Prevention Health Educator

Responsibilities
In addition to assisting with the daily operations and activities of
Health Enhancement, the Interpersonal Violence Prevention (IVP) Health
Educator include coordinating prevention education, training, and
services related to sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking.
S/he will provide technical assistance, strategic planning and
evaluation of interpersonal violence prevention education for the
department. Additionally, s/he will collaborate with other university
departments in the development, implementation, evaluation, and
improvement of programs, services and policies designed to promote a
safe and healthy campus community. Additional content areas may be
assigned.
Required
● A Master’s degree in health education/promotion, public
health, counseling, student affairs, women’s studies, social work or
related field.
● Experience with primary and secondary preventive intervention
initiatives with special emphasis in interpersonal violence prevention
education.
● Knowledge or experience in evaluation and outcome assessment.
● Demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to work in a
multicultural environment.
● Ability to prepare and deliver educational programs and
materials pertinent to college students.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred
● Experience with peer [theater] education.
● Experience in a college or university setting.
● Knowledge of student development theory.
● Proficient in a variety of computer software applications (e.g.,
Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
