We want to introduce Kristen Lombardi who is a staff writer and
investigative reporter with the Center for Public Integrity
(www.publicintegrity.org), a non-profit investigative journlism outfit
based in Washington, D.C, working to hold government and social
institutions accountable for their failings.

Below is an outline of her project and the help she will need from all
of you. Your experiences are integral to her work, so please share!!

I'm currently working on a year-long investigative project examining
sexual assault on college campuses nationwide, looking at how college
and universities handle and adjudicate these claims. I'm hoping to
interview students, former students, or parents of students who have
experienced sexual violence and who have bumped up against school
administrations when trying to report the crimes--or, on the flip side,
have been ushered through a model, supportive system. I'm particularly
interested in interviewing students who have filed Title IX complaints
with the Education Department's Office of Civil Rights because of the
schools' handling of incidents and what has happened with the OCR. I'm
also interested in interviewing staff and student activists who may have
helped or do help victims go through their schools' judicial affairs
process, or, at least, file official complaints.

I'd greatly appreciate the chance to talk with people on background,
with the idea that I could speak with them more fully--either on the
record or using pseudonyms--in the future. The Center has just begun the
legwork for this year-long project, and is looking to try to document as
many cases of sexual assault adjudicated through the college
adjudicatory system as possible as a way to identify larger, systemic
trends.

I'm including links to two investigative articles I wrote involving
sex-abuse survivors in the past, so people might get a better sense of
my work as a journalist.
