Greetings!

 

Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) is pleased to announce our upcoming conference,
"Men and Women as Allies: National Conference on the Primary Prevention of
Violence Against Women," held on April 14-15, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency
Washington on Capitol Hill.  

 

Co-sponsored by over fifty state coalitions, state health departments,
service providers, and men's organizations, this pivotal conference will
provide the chance to discuss unanswered questions in our field: What are
women's and men's roles in primary prevention? How can domestic violence,
sexual assault, and men's anti-violence groups work together to advance
prevention?

 

Eve Ensler, creator of the Vagina Monologues, will deliver the conference's
opening keynote, followed by an "Ally Dialogue" between her and
filmmaker/activist Byron Hurt (Beyond Beats and Rhymes). 

 

As we enter a time of change, our conference will offer an opportune moment
to engage the new administration. Joe Biden, U.S. Vice President-elect, has
been invited to deliver the lunch keynote. Attendees will mingle and dine
with influential political leaders during our intimate reception and dinner
on Capitol Hill. Federal agency briefings will provide attendees with the
rare opportunity to communicate views to new presidential appointees.
