I don't mean to spam the SAPC list with news about this person, but I
was somewhat shocked to find that the questionable self-defense
instructor (David Portnoy) I just emailed the list about has recently
been giving classes to sororities around the country, including DePauw
and UC Davis (which is in the city I live in, and where I volunteer...
as a women's self-defense instructor).

There are a few recent news stories about David Portnoy at the blog

Also, if any of you remember the 'Pony Tail Email' (e.g. "The #1 thing
men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to
go after a woman with a ponytail, bun, braid, or other hairstyle that
can easily be grabbed.") - the source of that information is attributed
to David Portnoy as well. See:
