Greetings Everyone,
I received a call this morning from a rep of this company. about drink
dective. Has but anyone heard about this being used on other campuses? I'm
highly skeptical on many levels, but wanted to hear from others.
The business I represent, Bloomsbury Innovations, based in London, England,
markets the Drink Detective http://www.drinkdetective.com. The Drink
Detective tests for virtually all of the drugs used in drug rape and other
drink spiking crimes including Rohypnol, Ketamine & GHB. They have been
successful overseas in increasing awareness and beginning to combat the
enormous issue of drink spiking in the UK and elsewhere.
As you are probably aware, drink spiking crimes are not easily solved as
victims are left with little or no memory of what happened so they cannot be
reliable witnesses. Tests to confirm spiking are both very expensive and
mostly useless—because most drugs leave the system before the person has a
chance to get tested. Where Drink Detective awareness campaigns have been in
place in the UK, there has been a marked reduction not only in drink spiking
but all sexual assaults. I can send you more specifics as well as
testimonials from police departments if you so request.
