Hi
We started an online advocacy program two years ago. I firmly believe that
people need to be highly trained advocates before an online service is
offered. Empathic listening skills, knowledge of trauma, referral resources,
knowledge of laws and the realities of sexual aggression need to be known
before attempting to advocate online. Issues involving confidentiality,
location of advocates, days/time, communication nuances, are all challenges.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

We, at St Cloud State University, MN, are in the process of developing an
online sexual assault program which will be supported by peer advocates. I
am requesting any thoughts/ideas/feedback anyone may have for us as we move
forward. If someone currently has a similar program, I would be interested
in seeing your website.
Thank you in advance,
