Hello Everyone!
In advance to my request I d like to apologize for cross-postings you
may receive.
We are going to submit a workshop proposal to a campus group here at SRU
called JumpStart. The Jump Start Transition Program is for African
American students and has proven to be an effective tool in the
recruitment of a diverse student body. The program is designed to serve
as a transition program with the primary goal to assist with the
acclimation of college life on the campus. The program invites
students to attend workshops on various topics before classes begin. We
ve been involved in previous years providing programs on healthy
relationships. This year, because we ve seen an increase in physical
violence outside of relationships we d like to provide a program that
addresses respecting everyone, a sort of personal development workshop.
We had discussed the possibility of administering a survey or personal
inventory that would help students to assess how they might react in
different stressful or uncomfortable situations. Do any of you know of
such a tool or would you be willing to share information you ve created
for a program like this?
Thanks so much,
Karla
