I used to work at the Murray State University Women's Center in Kentucky, and
I helped organize our TBTN for four years.  At our event, we had speakers,
poetry readings, song performances, dance performances, and members from one
of the fraternities on campus reading a men's pledge to help stop the
violence.  Before the event, we asked people to participate in our pinwheel
project, where we had people put the initials of survivors on a pinwheel and
then place it in the ground.  The program usually ran an 1-1 1/2 hours.  Then
we took our candlelit march to our Clothesline Project Exhibit.  Our TBTN was
the culminating event of an entire week of sexual assault and rape education
and awareness.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to email me off the listserv.

One of our student groups has asked us to help think of some different
ways of organizing Take Back the Night besides the traditional march
and/or Speak Out.

I'd very much appreciate any suggestions from the group -
Thanks!
Donna
