Hello, friends! I'm just curious - those of you who are using the "Equality
Cards" this Valentine's Day - how are you using them? Feel free to write me
personally, but a discussion on the Yahoo group might prove useful for others
who are looking for Valentine's Day programming ideas, especially with teens
and young people.
If you are new to the list and don't know what I'm talking about, I'd be
happy to send you the "Equality Cards" that I designed for Valentine's Day -
they feature a heart with an equals sign in it. The message is "Valentine -
don't just be mine - be *yours*, too." So it's also called the "Valentine,
Be Yours" campaign. There's a version encouraging healthy relationships for
domestic violence prevention folks, and a version encouraging consent for
sexual assault prevention folks.
Thanks!
Until the violence stops, Ben.

Quote of the Month, January 2008 (National Stalking Awareness Month)
"Empowerment, we are now asked to believe, is not about getting an education,
not about becoming economically independent, not about taking control of our
bodies, not about saving the environment, not about working toward social
justice, but dressing a certain way and wearing the newest version of what
ever t-shirt or body piecing we choose. Racism, sexism, and class privilege
are still alive and well.We have exchanged the possibility of genuine change
for feminism light and designer water."
