Selby was honorably discharged from the military many years before he
was convicted for his many crimes. It is my understanding that being
convicted of a crime as a civilian does not alter your military service
record after you've been discharged. And, as the story points out,
"changing the military burials policy would be a largely symbolic act"
since reports and convictions of sex offenses are so rare, including
among active duty military.
