We're looking for a Disability Specialist at Boise State. Here's a copy

Disability Specialist

Boise State University Disability Resource Center is seeking a
Disability Specialist.  This position will be responsible for assisting
Boise State University to meet federal mandates regarding accommodating
students with disabilities. The incumbent will evaluate appropriate
psychological and/or medical documentation to determine reasonable
accommodations, provide support and advocacy for students with
disabilities, and serve as a student/faculty/staff resource regarding
disabilities and accommodations. The Disability Specialist will also
work closely with other members of the Student Development team,
faculty, and staff to ensure all University activities are accessible to
students with disabilities.  The successful candidate will be able to
effectively troubleshoot, problem-solve, and have effective
collaboration skills.    

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Determine appropriate student accommodations   

Complete intake interviews with students new to DRC 
Determine thoroughness/appropriateness of documentation 
Work with new and current students to determine appropriate
accommodations 
Write accommodation letters for students 
Address student and/or faculty questions and concerns regarding
accommodations and disabilities 


Student advocacy and support     

Provide support and case management for students receiving
accommodations 
Work with current students each semester to re-evaluate effectiveness
of past accommodations and make adjustments as needed 
Network with campus and community resources to develop appropriate
referrals for students 


Administration and program development   

Develop disability related training seminars for students, staff, and
faculty 
Coordinate with the Disability Resource Center Director and Assistive
Technology Coordinator to develop Student Development opportunities such
as clubs, Disability Awareness programs, internships, etc. 
Represent Boise State University on various campus and State committees
such as the Interagency Secondary Transition Council 
Participation in other campus and/or community committees 
Other duties as assigned 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Masters degree, required, in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling,
Special Education, or a closely related field. 
Minimum one year experience working with students with disabilities at
the college level. 
Minimum two years experience in similar position working with adults
with disabilities

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Boise State University
