I don't? recognize the names of all the panelists at the Cosmo "gray rape" 
event -- (ps. i was interviewed for the? article -- made it clear there is no 
such thing, violates women's autonomy, legitimizes rape, etc -- and no 
surprise, my comments didn't make the piece) but it is no surprise Linda 
Fairstein is listed -- 

She was a strong anti-victim voice during the Kobe Bryant trial - making much 
of the fact that the victim had no credibility, in part because of claims 
that the victim "had sex with three men in three days" - 

I hope someone points out to her the falseness of that claim -- and the 
inappropriateness of her perpetuating that myth during her commentary in the 
case - 
the falseness of te statement, by the way, is amply laid out in my new book 
And Justice For Some, where I detail how it hurts all victims to have such 
lies infect the truth-finding function (and the court of public opinion), as 
do similar? lies in high profile cases that exploit other hot button social 
issues, gratuitously, in the name of winning, not justice -- 

in short, my book is all about the fact that truth has little to do with how 
we do justice, and it isn't the truth alone that suffers -- because larger 
social problems retain value in society when our justice system legitimizes a 
hierarchical view of what is acceptable, strategically, during trial -- by 
allow for the? exploitation of certain issues more than others despite the 
lack of any probative relationship between the social ill and an issue 
legitimately in dispute at trial -
