Greetings list members!
I have a policy question on which I would appreciate your feedback.
When a student informs a campus official (administrator, faculty, ta) of
an incident of sexual assault in which the alleged perpetrator is a
student for the purpose of obtaining resources or assistance, does your
campus treat this as a form of sexual harassment and require the campus
official to report the information to their Title IX officer? I'm not
referring to Clery Act reporting, which does not require names of
individuals or identifying details. I am referring to the passing on of
names of individuals involved and details of the incident. What are your
thoughts about approaching sexual assault as a form of sexual
harassment? Are there laws and codes that support this?
Thanks for your help! Please respond using my email address below.
Sincerely,
Kathy Rose-Mockry
