I know folks have probably asked this before, but i am curious about the
scope of what people are doing on their campuses in regard to bystander
education. I will be happy to collate responses and repost.
Thanks,

Hi, friends!
When I trained volunteers for a domestic violence hotline, I made a set of
flash cards that helped them learn about some common statistics about
domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking etc. I can't find them, but I
wondered if others have done this and if those cards could be made available.
One of the things I was helping to train them (and me!) on is not only the
statistic, but the completely referenced source for the statistic. With the
so-called "Father's Rights" movement coming at us with "their" stats that men
are victims as often as women, I feel a bit more need to know my sources and
my stats. And research has never been my strong suit.
Has anyone else used the "flash card" method? If so, would you be willing to
share your cards with others? Me, in particular? :)
Until the violence stops, Ben.

Quote of the Month, September 2007:
"I am lighting candles for Patreece Johnson, Renata Hill, Venice Brown, and
Terrain Dandridge whose real crime was being black, lesbian, and daring to
resist the intimidation and sexual harrassment of a lesbophobic male. I hope
and pray they are released very soon.
..Which of us, as women, has not had the experience of being accosted late at
night, crudely propositioned, harrassed with sexist hate speech? How many of
us have been knifed, beaten, shot, raped and murdered at the hands of a man
in an incident which began just like this one? How is it a crime for us to
be ready to defend ourselves?"
