Violence Awareness and 
Response Coordinator

As a member of the Women*s Center staff in the Division of Student
Affairs, the Boise State University Women*s Center Violence Awareness
and Response Coordinator provides leadership for developing,
implementing, and coordinating a vision for violence awareness and risk
reduction programs and response services on campus in regard to sexual
assault, rape, stalking, domestic violence, and physical battery.
Emphasis is placed on providing response and advocacy services for BSU
students reporting violence along with coordinating and implementing
campus-wide awareness and education activities for classrooms, students
groups, student athletics, and residence halls. Coordinates services
with contracted security service providers to campus, Student Code of
Conduct, community agencies, and other persons as needed. Serves as a
member of the Women*s Center team and provides support to the
Women*s Center Coordinator in the overall operation of the
Women*s Center and its programs  

Specific Duties/Responsibilities 
q       Provides administrative direction, leadership and daily
supervision of sexual assault response advocacy program and other
similar direct services 
q       Develops, implements, and coordinates University wide programs
that focus primarily on sexual assault and domestic violence awareness
and risk reduction.
q       Creates University-wide educational publications (print and web)
and educational marketing campaigns as well as maintaining and updating
written protocols and procedures.
q       Maintains on-going relationships with campus based and community
agencies in efforts to increase effectiveness and coordination of
services, including serving on committees and task forces, representing
the Women*s Center.     
q       Implements and facilitates University-wide training.
q       Provides direct crisis intervention and advocacy services to
students.       
q       Actively conducts on-going research in the field and gathers
evaluation information to assess success of program content, marketing
initiatives, and program goals. 
q       Provides educational counseling and support and referral
services to students individually and in small groups.
q       Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
q       Master*s Degree in Social Work or closely related field with
advocacy training.
q       Current working knowledge of theory, practices, protocols, and
response to victims/survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence,
stalking, and other violent crimes committed predominantly against
women. Knowledge of current literature of national and statewide trends
is required.
q       Knowledge of state laws and national trends in policy
development surrounding issues and incidents of sexual assault, rape,
stalking, and domestic violence.
q       Basic understanding of concepts of feminist theories, student
development theories, and counseling theories as they apply to practical
development and implementation of relevant programs grounded in theory.
q       At least three (3) years experience in an area that addresses
women*s and gender-related concerns.
q       At least two (2) years experience with victim assistance
services, advocate training, or awareness education programming,
preferable in a university setting.
q       Demonstrated experience in educational program design and
implementation.
q       A record of personal and professional initiative, flexibility,
and strong communication skills, including public speaking and writing.


Salary  $34,500/12-month/full-time professional position - Boise State
