Hello everyone,
I'm seeking resources in the Pittsburgh area that connect healing from
sexual violence and recovery from addiction. The situation is this: young
woman in her early 20s addicted to a variety of drugs, involved with
Narcotics Anon, in and out of rehab centers, and who has been repeatedly
sexually victimized, often by individuals she met either through using or
rehab. Does anyone know of any good resources for her? It sounds like she has
good insurance, so it could even be a private referral... Anything would be
appreciated.
Second, the individual who brought this to my attention is seeking
resources (print, web, etc.) that she could read to help her friend. I know
that when I've looked in the past, there hasn't been much good stuff out
there about drug/alcohol addiction and sexual violence, but it's been a few
years. Does anyone know of any good resources either for someone supporting a
survivor who is also addicted to drugs/alcohol, or resources for the survivor
herself? Again, anything would be superb.
Thanks, y'all. Keep up the wonderful work, and keep up your hopeful spirits!
Peace,
Ross
