A new competition, "No Private Matter! Ending Abuse in Intimate and
Family Relations" is showcasing some of the most innovative solutions to
domestic violence in the U.S. and around the world.  I am writing to
encourage you to enter one of your programs and/or publicize the
competition.

"No Private Matter!" is designed to catalyze entrepreneurs to tackle
this essential issue and to connect promising solutions with key
decision makers, investors and health and social service providers.  It
also creates opportunities for peers to learn about and refine the
strategies developed by their colleagues in order to advance new
strategies to end abuse.

A distinguished panel of judges, including the Family Violence
Prevention Fund President's Esta Soler, the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation's Jeane Ann Grisso, the Waitt Institute for Violence
Prevention's Cindy Waitt, and the Ford Foundation's Jael Silliman, will
choose twelve finalists - leading prevention programs that are
innovative and effective, have significant social impact and are
sustainable.  Three of the twelve will receive cash prizes of $5,000.

Entries are being accepted through March 28th and winners will be
announced on May 1st. You can see current entries or enter your program
at www.changemakers.net/en-us/competition/endabuse.

An e-card announcing competition details and a hot button for posting
on web sites (like the picture above) is available in English and
Spanish.  Contact me, Luci Manning at 202/371-1999 or

 for more information.  Please
consider entering, and feel free to share this information with other
organizations that may be interested in participating.

"No Private Matter!" is sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
and utilizes Changemakers' online, open source competition model.  Thank
you for helping to make it a success!

Thanks again!
