As we spoke about, Vassar is in search of a SAVP Coordinator.  I am
writing to solicit nominations! This is the second round for the DOJ
grant here at Vassar and finding the right person to help us carry
out our goals is crucial for the success of our program.  Should you

Project Coordinator for Sexual Assault & Violence Prevention Program (SAVP)

SUMMARY:
  The Coordinator for the Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention
Program (SAVP) will provide programmatic coordination and guidance
for the SAVP program and the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). In
collaboration with the SAVP Community Partnership Coordinator, the
SAVP Coordinator will design effective on-campus awareness education
and prevention programs to address violence against women on the
Vassar College campus. Programs will serve victims of sexual assault
and violence against women and traditionally underserved populations,
including students of color, international students, and gay,
lesbian, bisexual and transgender students. This is a two year
position funded by the U.S. Department of Justice Grant to Reduce
Violent Crimes Against Women. Benefits eligible.

  RESPONSIBILITIES:
  Collaborate with campus partners to create a continuum of
coordinated campus and community services. Coordinate and develop
comprehensive educational programming for all students and faculty.
Conduct trainings and workshops in collaboration with the SAVP
community coordinator. Perform administrative duties such as report
writing, budget administration, program evaluation and assessment,
and other activities related to the SAVP program. Assist the SAVP
Community Partnership Coordinator with the supervision of the SAVP
student interns and CARES interns in the assignment of their duties.
Attend professional development and training institutes. Serve as
emergency back-up contact person for campus victims of sexual
assault, relationship abuse, and stalking. Perform other duties as
assigned. Occasional travel and extended work hours are required to
achieve objectives.

  QUALIFICATIONS:
  The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (master's
preferred) in social work, sociology, psychology, women's studies,
counseling, health education or related field. Experience in program
development in the areas of domestic violence and/or sexual assault
and experience working in community organizations is preferred.
Requires computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and internet
resources. Requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally
and in writing with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff,
and community members. Prior experience in a college/university
setting preferred.
