I agree with Molly, especially about questions that meet the legal definition
and questions that require naming acts.
I'm not an academic and I'm not familiar with either survey she mentions.
But I've worked with many more survivors of sexual assault that won't name it
as "sexual assault" than those who do. Many are shocked that what happened
to them meets the definition of sexual assault. So having a survey
instrument that doesn't require the respondent to name what happened to them
as "sexual assault" would be very useful, indeed.
Good luck!
Until the violence stops, Ben.

November, 2006 quote:
"Now we have come again to this place.
My life apart from you
is not as strong.
Yes, I have danced
and I have told the stories
at my own fire
and I have sung well,
to all eight directions.
But when I am with you,
my friends,
I know better
who it is in me
that sings."

With thanks to all the feminist women and men who do this wonderful and
essential work. :)

A friend of mine at a campus is evaluating their judicial definitions of
sexual assault and their victims rights statements. They would love to see
examples from other universities. If you feel your campus has healthy and
clearly written definitions of sexual assault and/or victims rights
statements, please e-mail them to me at
.
Your
input is greatly appreciated.
P.S. Sorry for any cross-postings.
Sincerely,
Mike Domitrz
