The Southwest Women's Law Center is doing work related to the issue of
keeping young people in school who are either: (i) pregnant, (ii)
parents, and/or (iii) victims of domestic or sexual violence. They are
trying to locate people in the country who have done both quantitative
and qualitative research on the following general issues or aspects of
them:

1. The connection and correlations, if any, between teen pregnancy and
domestic and sexual violence.

2. The impact and incidence of sexual harassment in grades K-12,
including both staff on student and peer on peer

3. Any evidence or research on the issue of whether sexual harassment
leads young women to drop out of school.

4. Research that makes connections between gender- based bullying,
gender-based harassment and gender- based assault/violence.

If you have done research in any of these areas please contact:

Seeking Research on Best Practices in Encouraging Girls and Women in
Math, Engineering, and Science

A small committee for the Department of Education on "Best Practices in
Encouraging Girls and Women in Math, Engineering, and Science." Is
seeking programs that have data on their success in achieving the goal
of encouraging girls and women in Math, Engineering and Science. They
are also interested in finding practitioners--those people who have run
successful interventions

If you have any information that you think would be useful to the
Committee please contact:
