My college is looking at developing a several hour training to create a
'friends' network. This is in response to a campus climate survey we did
last year, the results showed that in the vast majority of sexual
assaults the survivor reported the crime to a friend and to no one else.
Our hope is to educate a network of 'friends' that will be trained on
the choices a survivor has post assault in regards to services received
(medically, legally, counseling etc.) and how to do that in a way that
empowers the survivor.
I would love to hear from any school who has such a program and what
their curriculum looks like.
