Sexual Assault and Health Issues Coordinator, Health Education Services

Georgetown University’s Health Education Services is seeking an experienced professional to provide leadership in addressing health issues on campus including addressing issues of sexual violence, developing a comprehensive education and prevention program, and coordinating the campus response to sexual assault and relationship violence. The candidate will improve services to all students to reduce risk taking behavior, fostering a multidisciplinary, prevention, and community model that focuses on creating collaborative partnerships throughout the campus. These services are delivered in direct work with individual students and in a variety of group settings. The coordinator will conduct educational and training workshops and presentations, provide direct services when needed, including crisis management and case management. Health Education Services seeks to empower students to take responsibility for decisions regarding their health and to increase community intervention with students at risk. Health Education Services provides leadership for social and behavioral changes in the University that will positively impact community norms.

Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in appropriate field (such as MSW, MSN, or MS). At least three to five years in health education or health related field, experience in higher education preferred. Eligibility for professional licensure highly desired.

The Coordinator will work closely with health professionals in Health Education Services, mental health practitioners in The Counseling and Psychiatric Service, clinicians in the Student Health Clinic, faculty, academic dean’s offices, student advocacy groups and student affairs professionals. The Coordinator will promote cooperative relationships among campus community health professionals, students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
