I know this posting is unique for this forum. However, knowing many of
you and knowing the men that many of you work with, I thought you may
know someone who fits this profile.
Do you know a dad of a teenager? Are you a dad of a teenager? A
reporter is looking for a positive experience of a father who has talked
to their teenager about dating. The reporter is from the Christian
Science Monitor and interviewed me this afternoon about Dads Talking To
Their Kids About Dating. She would like some quotes from dads of
teenagers. She would especially like to hear successful approaches of
dads talking to their teenagers openly and honestly (on an emotional
level) about dating. The article is being timed with Father's Day
coming up. If you are a dad who would like to share your personal
experience of talking with your own teenager children about dating,
please send me the e-mail you would like to have forwarded to her. If
you know a man who fits this profile, please forward this e-mail to
them. My e-mail address is
.
I think that we all agree that there is void in our society of males
getting involved with these very important issues. This article has the
opportunity to provide Dads with positive approaches and success stories
for getting involved in addressing respect and relationships with their
children. Imagine if more students had meaningful and healthy
discussions with their parents on these important issues -- before
coming to campus.
