TV ALERT-November 5, 2004
CONNIE CLERY TO APPEAR ON FRIDAY NIGHT'S "FOX REPORT WITH SHEPARD SMITH"
Connie Clery, co-founder of Security On Campus, Inc., is scheduled to appear
on tonight's FOX Report With Shepard Smith to discuss the need for criminal
background checks on students applying to college. The FOX Report is
broadcast on the Fox News cable channel, not the Fox broadcast channel, from
7 to 8 PM eastern (please consult your local listings for exact time and
channel in your area).
After pressure applied by SOC the University of North Carolina system is
considering implementing background checks on student applications after two
students who lied about their criminal backgrounds gained admittance to
UNC-Wilmington and in separate instances allegedly murdered two female
students earlier this year.
Please watch tonight's show for important information about the critical
need for colleges and universities to perform these background checks, and
then begin putting pressure on the schools where your children are enrolled,
where you work, and that are in your community to begin doing these checks.
Also please contact your state and federal legislators and ask them to
support any changes to law that may be needed to make these checks more
effective.
