Office of Pluralism and Leadership
in Student Life
Dartmouth College seeks a dedicated leader for its well-established Center
for Women and Gender. The Director will join a strong team of deans and
directors who work collaboratively to make education about gender and
diversity issues meaningful and relevant to every generation of Dartmouth
students. We invite applicants with a record of success and versatility as
administrators and educators to apply.
The Director is responsible for the overall supervision of the staff and
administration of the Center. The Director also advises students, builds
community, and implements a rich range of programs. Additionally, the
Director supervises, with the Director of the Health Resources Department,
the Sexual Abuse Awareness Program Coordinator.
We seek applicants from, and nominations for, individuals with the following
qualities:
- Ability and commitment to foster development of, and build strong
relationships with, students;
- Strong budget, organizational and strategic planning skills;
- Ability to address challenges collaboratively and creatively;
- Facility in working with faculty and senior administrators;
- A proven commitment to diversity and the ideals of a liberal arts education;
- Ability to represent the institution, the Center for Women and Gender, and
the needs of students.
Requirements: Master's degree with five years of relevant experience (or
equivalent) is required in the area of women's and gender-related issues.
Demonstrated skills in promoting pluralism and intercultural understanding
are essential. Ph.D. desirable.
